How to Make Easy Granola

If you have a lot of left over ingredients from making holiday cookies. You can take your ends of packages and turn them into an easy granola. This can be scaled up or down depending on how much you want to make.

To make granola from oatmeal, honey, raisins, nuts, coconut and oil, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 4 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup oil (such as canola oil or coconut oil)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, honey, raisins, nuts, and coconut and salt.
  3. Pour the oil over the oat mixture and stir until everything is well coated.
  4. Spread the mixture out evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the granola is golden brown and fragrant.
  6. Allow the granola to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
  7. Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a month.

Enjoy your homemade granola as a topping for yogurt or ice cream, or as a snack on its own. You can also add other ingredients, such as chocolate chips or dried fruit, to customize your granola to your taste. You can omit any of the ingredients that you don’t like. You can substitute dried cranberry for the raisins and add white chocolate chips for a Starbucks bliss bar vibe.
